Budget a total of about £40 to £60 per square metre to have laminate flooring supplied and fitted in the UK, with the boards themselves making up £8 to £25 of that for most homes. A 20 m² living room therefore lands between £800 and £1,200 all in, and under £400 if you lay it yourself

luxury vinyl tile (LVT) is the best all-round floor for a home with dogs. It is waterproof, hard to scratch and warmer underfoot than tile. Laminate rated AC4 or AC5 comes a close second, costs a good deal less per square metre, and for a house-trained dog in a living room it is often the better buy.
